Are you attending the Pacific Jamboree and have Travel related questions? We’re here to help!

Are travel costs covered in the registration fee?

No. The Participant or Offer of Service registration fee covers the cost of attending camp, food/meals, core program activities, ceremonies, garbage removal, portable washrooms, security and medical services, and a fancy camp badge!

What day should I arrive?

Participants are expected to arrive on Sat, July 6th.

Offers of Service should arrive on July 2, 3 or 4. This allows adequate training and set-up before participants arrive on July 6th. Please connect with your Department Lead if you plan to arrive before or after July 2-4.

Can participants arrive early on July 5th?

No. Unfortunately participants cannot arrive on site early.

Can I bring propane if I take the Ferry & Bus on July 6th?

No. The trucking company is not licensed to transport dangerous goods. BC Ferries permits private vehicles to take up to 2 propane tanks, for more info CLICK HERE.

Is there a place to park my vehicle for 1 week in Tsawwassen?

The Jamboree does not offer overnight parking in Tsawwassen. Parking is available on a first come first serve basis at Tsawwassen Ferry Park & Go. They provide a shuttle service to/from the ferry terminal. If you book with the Jamboree for Ferry travel, please allow yourself adaquate time to drop off gear at the mall, drive to the parking facility and catch thier shuttle service.

Why do I have to pay for parking?

Costs have risen and large parking lots near camp are not available. We are not able to offer free parking in 2024.

Is passenger drop off available?

Yes, you can drop off patrol members and thier camping gear at the off-site parking lot. Please register for a time on July 6th and stay for up to 1 hr for free. Patrol members will be shuttled to camp by bus. Camping gear will be transferred to to PJ Trucks and driven to camp. Please limit the weight of gear to 50 lbs max.

I’m flying to Victoria Airport and need to be picked up. The scheduled bus won’t pickup for at least an hour. What do I do?

Please bring a small game, book, or other device to help pass the time. Air travellers may have to wait up to 90 min from landing to the transport company picking you up.

I’m an OOS. Why are you asking my age for airport pickups?

To abide by Scouts Canada policies for Scouters under the age of 18 and the Two Scouter Rule and Transportation Standards we need to determine the age of passengers. In the lead up to camp, volunteer driver resources may be limited. Knowing the passenger’s age allows us to resource the vehicle with one or two fully screened scouters as required.

Do I have to enter the names of the youth and scouters I’m traveling with?

We only require the contact details of the on-site Scouter. We do not need the names of the participants (youth or adults) in your group.

If you are an OOS and traveling as a group, we request the name, phone number and email of each person. This helps us contact you if there is a schedule change.

Who do I contact if I have any problems or special requests?

Please contact Scott Alsop, Transport Manager, scott.alsop@scouts.ca

Is a forklift available to load cargo trucks in Tsawwassen?

No. Please limit all baggage or boxes to 50 lbs. Youth are expected to load cargo into the trucks. Groups may have to carry gear up to 1km from the drop off zone to their camp site.

My flight is delayed, what do I do?

If your flight is delayed or cancelled please notify us at scott.alsop@scouts.ca when possible. The camp phone number will be posted closer to July. Check with your credit card company for flight delay or cancellation insurance coverage.
